heyy....
alot have been happening recently..left me really really drained..haiz...
For those who don't know(whh is almost all of u), on Monday, my auntie was involved in an accident. After sending my little cousin(who;s only 3 yrs old), Galen, to school, on her way home, she was knocked down by a lorry.
The impact left her unconscious immediately. The right side of her head was hit, her collarbone broke, her ribs cracked and her liver was cut. When they sent her in on Monday, all of us didn't know her status, or whether she would even survive past that day. The main concern after she came out of the operating theatre was that her brain was swollen, and there's some haemorrage. We were all praying that the swelling would subside so that the docs are able to assess any other damages - like spinal cord injuries. The docs predicted abt 3-5 days before the swelling will subside and she will wake up. Only when she wakes up thn can they do anything else like reconstructive surgery (cos the bones in her face are also cracked)
Tuesday - No progress. However, early that morning, another of our church member, was knocked by a speeding motorcycle(he was a new driver). This church member (A. Jenni) is my senior pastor's sister and she is a missionary in Kalimantan, where she was hit. She suffered from fractured skull, and broken limbs plus loss of blood. Sorry if the thing is getting gory. To cut the long story short, Kalimantan hardly has the correct medical equipment and facilities to treat her, so she was flown back to Singapore that night. Also during that night, one of our church pastors came to pray for A.teng2, and while praying, one of the leaders had a vision. He saw A. Jenni giving a testimony in church at the podium and he also saw A. Teng2 singing worship at the back. He said he was a beautiful scenario because there were also loads of white doves. and the word divine peace came to him. He was quite relieved then.
Wednesday - Early in the morning, we got a message that A. Jenni has passed away. Her brain was damaged and there was nothing much they could do but take her off the life support coz on her way back to spore, due to the lack of facilities, she lost 3/4 of her blood. Also that morning, the docs realised that A.Teng's brain has been haemorraging and it has caused clotting in the brain. They had to do a surgery if not, the pressure in her brain will be life threatening. It was quite a toug day for all of us. She came out of the OT at about 5…that is like a 5.5hour operation. The docs say that the surgery was successful. But because there are more bleeding thn they thought, plus, there's aclot in the brain tht cannot be removed. he predicted a 30% chance of full recovery. But at that point, my uncle also found out about A.Jenni's passing. He was so shaken by the news, he broke down. That is my uncle who is usually fearless and super composed. All the emotions that we felt that night were just varied and hard to describe.
Thurs - My uncle looked much better. It was thn that he told me about the night of miracles. The night before my uncle was distraught, he was telling a number of pple about the vision and all. One of his frens told him about this Pastor - Rusty Russell..i think its how his name is spelt. He called Rusty and was told that no one is sure whether or not Rusty will make it down to pray for my Auntie. But for some reason, my uncle was super certain that he would. And true enuf, Rusty did.About an hour and a half after the prayer, the docs did an MRI scan on A. Teng2. all her internal bleeding is gone and no signs of anymore clotting. That Thurs afternoon when we went to see her…she looked visibly better and head less swollen as well.Tt's not all, after praying for her, Rusty also prayed for my uncle. U.Gimson has a chronic back problem. Something about a ligament which is missing, causing the bones to rub agst each other when he did certain things…and his back will be in pain. He also cannot bend and neither can he twist and turn. Rusty prayed for him and just asked him to move. And that my uncle did, with great ease. For some reason, Rusty also asked my uncle to sit and stretch out his legs. For the life of him, U.Gimson nv thought his legs were uneven. But they were. So all Rusty did was say a simple 30sec prayer…something like "in the name of Jesus, I command you to be of equal length"…okay..i think he said it in a nicer and more sae manner. But yah…and my uncle said that he felt one of his legs being pulled….and yes, when he stretched them out again, they were of equal length! The next thing he is gg to do and to go for an X ray to show that his back is really okay and use that to glorify our Saviour. He is a changed man… he really is. And he also said that this is the day that A. teng2 and himself will write about in their journals.
Friday - she is looking much better. Her vital stats are also looking good…so if she keeps up at this state…within 36hours, they will start to gradually take her off the sedatives and allow her to wake up. That is very good news…but she will be in a lot of pain. Plus the recovery process is going to be very long. They will have to redo her skull because they took out a portion of it to perform the operation. They would have to do some reconstructive surgery as well. Plus at the moment, we do not even know what else is wrong with her. Just praying that she will fully recover. There's a possibility of memory loss and other things like that. But we're just concern that she can wake up 1st.We're all in better spirits. It has really been a long wk.
In the meantime, a little bit more….about Galen. That little cousin of mine is super sticky to his mother. So we're very worried that he will be looking for his mother, esp closer to bedtime and also worry that he will cry and all. But the whole of last wk, he has been really obedient. On Monday, my grandmother told him that his mother got into an accident and is in the hospital. She will only be back when she's better. He didn't really seem to understand..or myb he did, just didn't know the implications? Not sure…because he was perfectly fine with it..and just carried on playing. He did say that he wanted to go to the hospital cos everyone was going..but when my grandmother said no..he was also fine with it.That night and the next few nights, he did cry for his mother and sometimes father. But without much fuss, he was able to sleep soon after the crying and everyone was rather surprised at this good behaviour. Keeping also in mind that a lot of people have also been praying for him. =)The boy is really quite a cute boy…and really matured for his age. He said this morning, I think…that he wants to go to church to pray for his mother because his mother got into an accident. And he wants to pray for her to get well.
